Diet Cake

Have you ever thought how nice it would be to have some cake on your diet? Here is a great recipe. It is easy to make and tastes great.

I use the Tupperware Heat N Serve round 6 1/4 cup container when I make this cake. My mom tried to make it in a corningware container and it came out as hard as a rock. Hence, there is something about the Heat N Serve containers that makes this cake come out moist and yummy. If you have a container similar to the Heat N Serve, why not give it a try.

Of course, you can add frosting to this cake if you want. However, I don't think you could call it a diet cake if you add frosting or whipped cream. Although, it will still be quick and easy. This recipe is a nice way to whip up a dessert when you find out at the last minute that one of your children needs to take something to share on Share Day.

Diet Cake

One box of cake mix. I find the cake mixes that say moist come out the best.
One can of diet soda

Empty the box of cake mix into a large bowl. Add the can of soda and mix throughly.
Spray your Heat N Serve container lightly. Pour the cake batter into the Heat N Serve container. Place the seal on the container and microwave it for ten minutes. Let it set for about two minutes.

Remove the cover and place a light plate over it. Turn the cake container upside down on the plate. The cake will come right out of the container quite easily.
This cake tastes best when served warm.

You can try several combinations with this cake. My favorite is to use chocolate cake mix and diet cherry soda. Yummy combination. You can also use regular soda as opposed to diet if you prefer.
